Fringe Poster Competition

The school has been making a picture of feeling and emotion about the Fringe. We have been looking at things like fireworks and much more. They didn’t draw acts like jugglers. They looked at previous winners and took inspiration from it. Schools from all over Scotland are doing this. The pictures have an overwhelming amount of colours. They have been thinking about where it is? Edinburgh. When? 7th to 31st August all through the day. This is what some people used to draw their picture.

Christmas Fair

Today is the Christmas fair and it will be starting at 6:30. Santa will be there and there will also be things to buy and eat. There will be a raffle with lots of teddies for younger children and games to play for children. Cake and candy is available and there are also prizes to win. Don’t forget to buy your kids their Christmas craft! Mums and Dads might enjoy feasting their eyes on tea and coffee. Have a look at our Christmas tree. Each child in the school wrote about a person who they are going to pray for during the season of Advent.

This term P5 has been learning about the Scottish Wars of Independence. There has been a lot of studies about it and lots of activities. Over the past few weeks P5 have been writing letters to apply for the job as King or Queen of Scotland. They done very well while writing it and listened very carefully to the instructions. I was elected as King!

Drama Workshop

On Tuesday 11th of November P5-7 participated in a World War 1 drama workshop. Some of us were assigned a country and we acted out how World War started and what happened during World War 1. We then performed what we had learned in front of the P3’s and P4’s who seemed to have enjoyed it very much. It was a very educating and fun way to learn about war and I hope each class enjoyed it as much as I did.

Poppy Scotland

Poppy Scotland celebrate 100 years since World War 1 and the P7’s went round the school and sold Poppy’s for Poppy Scotland. We went round every day until the 11th of November and we made a grand total of £47.50. The money will go to Poppy Scotland. Thank you to everyone who sent a donation for Poppy Scotland. We had a 2 minutes silence in school to remember those who have died at war.

Children In Need

On Friday 14th of November you can dress up as a super hero in aid of Children in Need. It doesn’t have to be a proper super hero like super man and bat man, it could be someone like your mum, dad, a pet or someone you look up to such as a pop star or a football player. It’s up to you but if you come dressed up you have to bring a donation which will be donated to Children in Need! So come on and have some fun!!!

Missio Day of Many Colours

On the 7th of November we had our Day of Many Colours. It was a great day. Everyone made an effort to dress up. We said a decade of the rosary at assembly. Some people only put a red hairband in but that was fine. Only some people wore all the colours so well done to them. Everyone gave 50p or more to missio and the grand total was £47!! Thank you!
