Every time an adult looks and listens to a child they are observing and assessing what to do next, and drawing on their previous knowledge of children, they are providing experiences responsively.<\/p>\n
Planning responsively in this way helps children to achieve. When a child has autonomy and an enabling environment which is supported by skilful adults then they thrive.<\/p>\n
When children show high levels of involvement, that is when there is progress and development occurring \u2013 when the brain is at its most active. High level involvement occurs most often when children are able to pursue their own interests in an enabling environment\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 supported by skilled staff. Planning in the moment helps to make this possible.<\/p>\n
Children will be able to make, explore, problem solve, roleplay,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 experiment, lead and involve their friends, learn to take responsibility, share their learning with others, develop their vocabulary and confidence.<\/p>\n
Intentional Planning<\/strong><\/h3>\nYour child will have targeted interventions once per term to support them to make progress. This is an opportunity for you and your child’s keyworker to work together and set specific targets for your child depending on their learning needs. All practitioners will then focus on supporting your child to develop under these targets.<\/p>\n

Our adults know the children very well and have a sound understanding of child development. This ensures that the adults enhance and extend the learning at the appropriate level.<\/p>\n
Practitioners will be supporting children to learn by observing them, watching for an opportunity to teach a skill, provide vocabulary or become involved in the learning.<\/p>\n
You and you child’s keyworker will work together. They may offer ideas for supporting learning at home related to your child’s targets.<\/p>\n
