Benefits of risky play and the use of tools<\/h1>\n
Risky play can be defined as play that provides opportunities for challenge, testing limits, exploring boundaries and learning about injury risk.<\/p>\n
Woodworking is one example of risky play which has many benefits.<\/p>\n
These include but are not limited to:
\n\u2022 Hand eye coordination and manual dexterity
\n\u2022 The development of fine\/gross motor skills
\n\u2022 The development of problem solving and creative thinking skills
\n\u2022 Increased imagination and spatial awareness.
\n\u2022 Developing resilience, persistence and a sense of agency
\n\u2022 Developing independence skills and fostering a sense of curiosity
\n\u2022 Developing concentration
\n\u2022 An increased awareness of risk and how to manage personal safety<\/p>\n
