Chemistry is concerned with the study of the periodic table and how the elements join together to make the world around us.<\/p>\n
In S3 Chemistry pupils will recap topics from S2 then start two new topics. The first topic is looking at chemical reactions and how to identify them and the second looking at the atom and different analytical techniques. Pupils then start the National 5 course so they are prepared for the transition into S4.<\/p>\n
Chemistry is offered at five levels in the senior phase. The five main phases are National 5, National 4, National 3, Higher and Advanced Higher. The document below contains a breakdown of each course and how it is assessed.<\/p>\n
