{"id":318,"date":"2020-12-12T22:33:29","date_gmt":"2020-12-12T22:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/stpatricksprimary\/?page_id=318"},"modified":"2023-09-25T22:00:39","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T22:00:39","slug":"expressive-arts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/stpatricksprimary\/expressive-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"Expressive Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Expressive Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The expressive arts include experiences and outcomes in art and design, drama, dance and music.\u00a0 Through the expressive arts, children and young people have rich opportunities to be creative and imaginative and to experience inspiration and enjoyment.<\/p>\n<p>The music programme for the school is based upon the ABC music resource.\u00a0 In addition to this, Primary 4 children can try out for string instruction, and in Primary 6 for brass instrument instruction, to find out if they are suitable candidates for learning an instrument.\u00a0 All of P5 are trained by Mrs Wilson our singing instructor.\u00a0 Also in P6 &amp; 7 pupils have the opportunity to be trained for voice by Mrs Wilson as a continuation of the P5 training.<\/p>\n<p>Art and design includes drawing, painting and using a variety of materials, media and techniques to investigate visually and record.<\/p>\n<p>Within drama, children are encouraged to participate in improvisation, role play, characterisation, simulation and creative movement. \u00a0We also provide opportunities for children to perform in front of an audience eg our Christmas concerts, Grandparents\u2019 Day and the Inverclyde Music Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Children experience a range of dance styles, including Scottish Country Dance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Expressive Arts The expressive arts include experiences and outcomes in art and design, drama, dance and music.\u00a0 Through the expressive arts, children and young people have rich opportunities to be creative and imaginative and to experience inspiration and enjoyment.
