{"id":297,"date":"2020-12-12T22:14:31","date_gmt":"2020-12-12T22:14:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/stpatricksprimary\/?page_id=297"},"modified":"2023-09-25T21:59:20","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T21:59:20","slug":"literacy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/stpatricksprimary\/literacy\/","title":{"rendered":"Literacy and English"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Literacy and English<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLiteracy is fundamental to all areas of learning, as it unlocks access to the wider curriculum.\u00a0 Being literate increases opportunities for the individual in all aspects of life, lays the foundations for lifelong learning and work, contributes strongly to the development of all four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence.\u201d\u00a0 CfE \u2013 Principles and Practice.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are two main aspects of the languages area of the curriculum.
