Gym Clothes<\/strong><\/p>\n

For both girls and boys the supply of a\u00a0t shirt, shorts and slip-on or velcro sandshoes would be helpful. They may keep these items in their trays in the classroom or a bag on their hook.<\/p>\n

For health and safety reasons it is essential that children do not wear items of jewellery during PE sessions. Children\u2019s names must be on\u00a0all<\/strong> articles of clothing, bags purses etc.<\/p>\n

Given that there is substantial parental and public approval of uniform, schools in Inverclyde are free to encourage the wearing of school uniform. In encouraging the wearing of uniform, account is taken in any proposals to prevent any direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of race or gender. Any proposals will be the subject of widespread consultation with parents and pupils. Against this background it should be noted that it is the policy of the Education & Lifelong Learning Committee not to insist on pupils wearing uniform or having specialist items of clothing as a prerequisite to their attending and engaging in all of the activities of the curriculum.<\/p>\n
