Play is a pivotal part of human development.\u00a0 We recognize how vitally important it is for children to be given ample time to play and develop throughout the day in order to follow their own lines of individual interest and to learn and explore.<\/p>\n

Play can be thought of as children\u2019s work and through this, children learn to find answers to their own questions, discover new skills and learn skills of how to work collaboratively with their peers or with adults.<\/p>\n

At St Francis primary school, we want to encourage and develop play by viewing the child as the centre of their own learning.<\/p>\n

Our Inverclyde Coaching and Modelling Officers have created a video which explains and defines play in our schools.<\/p>\n
