Last week P3 and P2/3 visited Kelburn Country Park. We had lots of fun learning about nature and playing in the adventure playgrounds! We saw lots of animals such as goats, llamas, chickens, geese, tadpoles and pheasants. We also enjoyed learning about trees and leaves from the park ranger. The Secret Forest was spooky but amazing, there were lots of things hiding in the trees such as a giant’s castle, a Chinese castle, a witch’s cottage and a swamp. We even followed a nature trail which led us straight to a beautiful waterfall where we spotted a goblin’s cave…

Our Children’s Rights Assembly
Last Friday we held an assembly on Children’s Rights in our school gym hall. The whole school came to watch us! We told them about Article 12 which highlights children’s right to an opinion and for it to be listened to. We performed a song and some people spoke to the audience about Article 12 and how our opinions can be heard in school. We felt nervous at first but afterwards we felt proud of ourselves and we would definitely do something similar again!

Roots Of Empathy
Every Monday Mrs McFarlane comes in our class and some Mondays baby Caragh comes in too. She is always so happy when she comes to visit. Sometimes her mum and dad come in and we enjoy learning from baby Caragh. She can do so much more now than she could do at the start of the year.
