Learning & Pedagogy <\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

Our approach to the learning is based on the processes of\u00a0how<\/em>\u00a0children learn and how children learn best \u2013 pedagogy. Our approach at King\u2019s Oak Nursery is based on learning through play.<\/p>\n

Through this approach, our practitioners develop essential skills and knowledge and a positive attitude to learning from our children. All practitioners engage and challenge children\u2019s thinking using real-life and imaginary situations\u00a0(Building the Curriculum 2).<\/em><\/p>\n

Children are supported when necessary through sensitive intervention\/ interactions to support or extend learning and development. We believe that all areas of the curriculum can be enriched and developed through play.<\/p>\n

Outdoor Learning<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n

At King\u2019s Oak Nursery, we firmly believe that the outdoors provides children with one of the best possible environments in which to learn.<\/p>\n

We view indoors and outdoors as one combined environment and ensure that children can access these free flowing from indoors to outdoors for the majority of their day. All practitioners feel strongly that outdoor play is paramount to young children\u2019s learning and play as it allows children to learn through their natural environment and explore energetic activity, sensory and movement play.<\/p>\n

Our Children are provided with the opportunity to participate in\u00a0Dinky Diggers Sessions, where they spend time in a site away from the nursery.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Through play we use \u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Curriculum for Excellence<\/span>, which<\/span>\u00a0is intended to help children and young people gain the knowledge, skills and attributes needed for life in the 21st century, including skills for learning, life and work. <\/span><\/p>\n

Its purpose is to enable children and young people to become:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
