Maths Week Scotland!

Primary 7 are preparing to take part in Sumdog Scotland Maths Week challenge! Who know maths could be so fun!

Remember you can login at home prior to the competition going live on 8th September 2017 to participate in a selection of online maths games.

 

 

World War Two

Primary 7 and Primary 6 are studying World War Two this term. We have been discovering lots of interesting facts and carrying out our research at home.

Jude brought in his grandfather’s World War 2 medal to show us.

Emily Wilson P7 -Santa switched his sleigh for a tank for the people in the American army camp.

Jenni Mckeown P7 -Everyone carried a gas mask at all times in a bag.

Lucy Devine P7 -Children had to be evacuated from towns that were in danger to the countryside where it was safer,  they were called evacuees.

Iona Burns P7 -When the children were evacuated to random houses, some of the families were not nice, they were HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!

Cameron Carson P7 -In the “Greenock Blitz” More than 250 people died and 5000 homes were destroyed.

Jack McGradey P7 – Everyone thought the war was only going to last 6 weeks but instead it was 6 YEARS!

Christopher Todd P7 -Hitler was  in prison before World War 2, he spent his time writing his autobiography Mein Kampf. This was before he became leader of Germany

Ben Leith P7 -Three quarters of the evacuated children survived World War II

Euan  Carson P7 -World War 2 started after Adolf Hitler invaded Poland. France and Britain then declared war on Germany on 3rd September 1939.

Ewen Cameron P7 -Hitler became leader of Germany he made his own party called the Nazi party.

Jason Stevenson P7 -People volunteered to help before and after there was an air raid

Ryan Batey P7 – Comics were also popular during WW2 because the soldiers didn’t have a lot of entertainment, this is when the  character Union Jack was created.

Primary 7 have been enjoying spending time with their P1 buddies. P7 have been excellent role models, helping and caring for the younger pupils. Displaying our KPS values!
