Working together helps us to understand each child as an individual and ensures that they are supported to learn, develop and thrive.

We want families to feel informed, involved and welcomed as part of life at the KIP. Partnership can take many forms — from conversations at the school gate and sharing information about your child, to attending parents’ evenings, joining family learning opportunities, responding to consultations and celebrating learning and achievements with us.

Working Together

Throughout the year, we provide a range of opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in their child’s learning and in the wider development of our school and nursery. These include:

Parents’ Evenings and reporting to share progress, strengths and next steps.

Learning Journals and other opportunities to see and celebrate children’s learning.

Family learning opportunities across both our school and nursery.

Meet the Teacher and information sessions to help families understand learning, routines and expectations.

Parent consultations, questionnaires and feedback to help shape improvement and future developments.

Open events, celebrations and performances which bring our school community together.

Opportunities to volunteer and share skills, interests or expertise with our children.

Regular communication through our website, newsletters and digital platforms.

Your Voice Matters

We value the views of our families. We regularly seek feedback when reviewing aspects of school and nursery life, developing policies and planning improvements. We want parents and carers to feel confident about sharing ideas, asking questions and letting us know when something could be better.

Partnership also means keeping us informed. Changes at home, concerns about learning or wellbeing, or simply something your child is particularly excited or worried about can all help us provide the right support.

An Open and Respectful Partnership

Positive relationships work best when communication is open, respectful and focused on what is best for our children. Our staff are always happy to help and we encourage families to contact us through the appropriate school or nursery channels when they have a question or concern.

We don’t expect parents to be in the building every week to be involved. Reading together, talking about the school day, encouraging good attendance, supporting routines and taking an interest in learning all make an enormous difference.

At the KIP, parents and carers aren’t simply informed about their child’s education – they are valued partners in it. Together, we can give every child the strongest possible foundation for learning, wellbeing and success.

Parents as Partners Here is a copy of our Parent Calendar for 2027 2027:Parent Calendar 2026 2027 At Inverkip Primary School and Nursery Class, we recognise that parents and carers are a child’s first and most important educators.
