We value the importance of involving parents\/carers in the life of the school and their engagement in their children\u2019s learning. We have an \u2018open door\u2019 policy to parents.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to meet with parents who have a concern as soon as possible, and can arrange meetings later in the day to suit working parents. You can contact us at: <a href=\"mailto:inverkipprimarypc@gmail.com\">inverkipprimarypc@gmail.com<\/a> and feel free to follow us on X.<\/p>\n<p>We will strive to ensure that you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welcomed and involved in the life of the school<\/li>\n<li>Fully informed about your child\u2019s education and learning<\/li>\n<li>Able to support learning at home<\/li>\n<li>Encouraged to express your views and take part in decision making<\/li>\n<li>Involved in forums for discussion and debate on educational policy Learning and Teaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are a number of ways parents can become more involved with learning and teaching in school:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Input to school questionnaires<\/li>\n<li>Feedback following parent evenings \/ Termly Profiles<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at Parents Evenings<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at induction days \/ curriculum workshops<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at showcases events<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at school shows\/ events<\/li>\n<li>Input to class topics v Input to themed days\/weeks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentclub.scot\/\">Please look at the school and Parentzone website<\/a> for more information on Parental Engagement.<\/p>\n<h2>A Message from our Parent Council: Mrs Sarah Barr<\/h2>\n<p>Welcome! We represent you! We meet to discuss issues relating to school life &#8211; policy, teaching and learning including school, local authority and national initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The Parent Council meet approximately every 6 weeks. Our primary role as The Parent Council is to represent the views and concerns of the parents\/carers\u00a0at the school.\u00a0 In addition, we provide support to the school management team, organise social and fundraising events and promote contact between all parents and the rest of the school community. With such a wide remit and range of activities, we currently have three sub-committees\u00a0who meet at separate times and feedback at PC meetings.\u00a0 These committees focus on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Events Team<\/u><\/strong> &#8211; organise school discos, the Christmas Fayre plus lots of other fundraising events throughout the year.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Communications Team<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 look after and maintain our PC Facebook page, Twitter site, email account and our PC Termly Newsletter.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Learning and Teaching Team<\/u><\/strong> &#8211; work with our Head Teacher on matters relating to the curriculum, strategic improvement plan and school policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PC welcome new members at our AGM at the start of each session in August\/September. We are keen to have a good representation of parents from nursery to Pr7.
