A wide range of texts are studied, including novels, plays, poetry, media and non-fiction and students work towards building their analytical and evaluative skills in responding to what they have read. Students undertake regular spelling and grammar activities support development of writing skills.<\/p>\n<p>Students identified as requiring additional support may be part of the \u2018Fresh Start\u2019 programme and we work closely with the Principal Teacher of EAL.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, all our S1 and S2 pupils undertake set homework projects across the year, for example S1 \u2018My Family Past\/ Someone I admire\u2019 and S2 \u2018Discursive Essay \u2013 Gaming\u2019 . Furthermore, all S1 and S2 classes also make weekly visits to the school library to foster good reading habits.
