Creating Animations
Primary 4 have been learning how to create basic animations by following tutorials on Scratch.
They are using programming blocks to make objects move, make sounds or change how they look.
The children were asked to try and create a short animation using the letters from their first name. Here is an example made by Zara from Primary 4 – click on the link to view – https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/96875795/
Enjoy!
Creating an interactive game on Scratch
Our Primary 7 children worked with a partner to create an interactive game on Scratch for one of the classes in the school. They had to decide which stage the game was for, for example, Primary 2 or 3, and then decide whether it was an addition, subtraction or multiplication game.
They have been learning about variables (things that can change) and operators (for example, adding, multiplying or dividing).
We looked at some examples on scratch and tried to create our own version.
Here is an example of an addition game created by Liah and Anna from Primary 7 for Primary 2 to play– click on the link to play – https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/96875365/
Good luck!
Creating our own games on Scratch
Our Primary 6 and Primary 7 children have been working hard to learn how to make an interactive game on Scratch.
They have been learning about variables (things that can change) and operators (for example, adding, multiplying or dividing).
We looked at some examples on scratch and tried to create our own version.
Here is an example of a Times Table game created by Sean from Primary 7 – click on the link to play – https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/96874440/
Good luck!

Be green save trees !
This year St Patrick’s are saving trees and e-mailing Christmas cards to friends and family instead of using cards.
Why not give it a try at the mouse club website.

Puffin Virtually Live Roald Dahl Day
Primary 4B enjoyed taking part in the live Roald Dahl show broadcast by Puffin.
The 30-minute lesson was packed with new videos, games and some very special drawing instructions from Quentin Blake. We have attached some of the results – see if you can guess which Roald Dahl character the children drew? #roalddahlshow
