When allocating a place, the Head of Centre will send a letter to the parent(s) informing them of the place available and inviting them to the Centre for enrolment. At this meeting the parent will fill in\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 various forms, discuss placement, fees, starting date\/time and settling in process. The parent and child will be introduced to the child’s keyworker who will show them around the centre and introduce them to other members of staff.<\/p>\n
The nursery has a planned programme of recording children\u2019s achievements which parents\/ carers will be involved in with the child and keyworker.\u00a0 The first part of this process involves\u00a0 All About ME \u2013 My Personal Care Plan being completed by parent\/ carer and keyworker on enrolment. This information offers a starting point for learning and development for nursery. This is a working document however we review these bi-annually. Once enrolled every child will have a \u2018My First 28 Days at Nursery\u2019 completed and shared 28 days after start date. Individual Targets will be discussed and set which becomes a part of a Personal Learning Plan. Each month parents\/ carers and keyworker will discuss general progress, review previous target (if required) and agree new target. This will be recorded on the Personal Learning Plan. Any changes or updates in a child\u2019s life that has an impact on their learning, development, routines and care both at home and nursery is recorded on the \u2018Significant Events, Learning and Milestones\u2019 sheet at the back of the child\u2019s Personal Care Plan.<\/p>\n

At Glenbrae we also use online Learning Journals to record, track and assess our children\u2019s learning, progress and next steps. On enrolment parents\/ carers will complete a form which will then enable access to their child\u2019s Learning Journal. Here they will be able to see photographs, observations, links to the curriculum and also be able to share achievements from home. If anyone has difficulty accessing the Journals at all please let us know and we will help in any way we can.<\/p>\n
