In this playroom, our planning is underpinned by the values, principles and purposes of \u2018Curriculum for Excellence\u2019\u00a0 which is the Scottish Curriculum guidance for children aged 3-18 years.<\/p>\n
By planning for children’s needs we aim to provide children with opportunities to begin to develop skills which they will use in each stage of their learning as well as in later life and work.<\/p>\n
Our play based approach to the curriculum will support children to achieve the four capacities, of the curriculum, and become:<\/p>\n
Since August 2024, we have used the Inverclyde Early Level Tracker to plan for children’s learning in Health & Wellbeing, Literacy & English and Numeracy & Maths.\u00a0 Keyworkers identify 1 target from each of these areas that will be supported, and observed, by all staff within the nursery.<\/p>\n
Learning experiences also incorporate other curricular areas as set out in Curriculum for Excellence: Expressive Arts, Religious and Moral Education, Health and Wellbeing, Science, Literacy and English, Social Studies, Numeracy and Mathematics, Technologies.<\/p>\n
