Letter to Parents/Carers

School Update on P7 Transitions to Clydeview Academy

Dear Parent/Carer

As you know, transitions and changes are part of everyone’s life. The vast majority of children and young people look forward to moving on however in these unfamiliar times transitions could be more challenging. Therefore, I am writing to inform you of the procedures that we are putting in place to ensure that your child feels as prepared as possible for next session and that you, as parents/carers, feel confident about his / her next step in education.

To support you and your child at this time, we will be making the following available:

  • A virtual filmed tour of the school hosted on the school website so that all pupils transitioning into Clydeview Academy can see where classrooms and learning spaces are, including halls, toilets etc.
  • A transition booklet for each P7 pupil, containing key aspects of school life; these will be available on the school website and can be posted out if required.
  • An interactive map of the school with linked pictures of the different areas / departments in the school.
  • On-line communication for parents to replace the parent meetings around induction that normally take place at this time of year. For those parents who may not be able to access this, the school will provide further information.

Arrangements will be made for all individual pupils requiring additional support with their transition. For many children this process has already taken place however if this is not the case, the school will be in touch with parents to confirm details.

For more information on the school, please visit the Clydeview Academy website.

Yours truly,

Craig Gibson
