Textile Technology

In Textile classes you pupils will be encouraged to develop knowledge of sewing equipment and textiles by making a range of fabric items.

Pupils will be given the opportunity to choose fabrics and colours using their own designs when possible.

As well as developing useful life skills pupils will be able to develop creativity and problem solving skills when selecting items to make for a particular design brief.

This whole process will boost your self esteem.

This subject enables pupils to work towards school values in the following ways:-

 Confidence – By producing attractive fabric items.

 Respect –     From (and to) peers when showing your completed items.

Achievement – Sense of achievement on producing  useful, attractive items.

Independence – Through being able to using sewing equipment competently.

Gifted – Enabling pupils to display skills and knowledge to your own individual levels.

Pupils will be presented at SQA level National 1-4
