The Higher Graphic Communication course builds on the skills developed within the BGE and National courses. The course allows students to further develop skills in reading and interpreting graphics. It combines elements of creativity and communicating for visual impact with an appreciation of the importance of graphic communication standards.

Students can expect to develop their skills in the following areas –

• the use of CAD software.
• skills in evaluating the effectiveness of graphics in a real world context.
• gaining an understanding of the impact that graphics has on the wider world.
• the use of IT within graphical communication
• freehand sketching of ideas through to creation of documents that demonstrate a high level of skill within bot DTP and CAD work.
