{"id":25,"date":"2023-01-20T14:46:51","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T14:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/clydeviewmusic\/?page_id=25"},"modified":"2023-01-20T14:46:51","modified_gmt":"2023-01-20T14:46:51","slug":"higher-music-technology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/in\/clydeviewmusic\/higher-music-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Higher Music Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Higher Music Technology Course develops learners\u2019 skills in the use of music technology hardware and software to capture and manipulate audio, and in analysis of 20th and 21st century musical styles and genres.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bLearners use music technology creatively in sound production in a range of contexts and develop a broad understanding of the music industry, including an awareness of the implications of intellectual property.<\/p>\n<table class=\"wsite-multicol-table\">\n<tbody class=\"wsite-multicol-tbody\">\n<tr class=\"wsite-multicol-tr\">\n<td class=\"wsite-multicol-col\">\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large\">Assignment<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">The purpose of the assignment is to assess practical application of knowledge and skills from the units to plan, implement and evaluate a creative production using music technology<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">A creative production\u00a0in any appropriate context, such as (but not limited to) live performance, radio broadcast, composing and sound design for film, TV themes, adverts and computer gaming.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">Marks are awarded for: Planning the production,\u00a0implementing the production and evaluating the production.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td class=\"wsite-multicol-col\">\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\">Listening Paper\u200b<\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">The purpose of the question paper is to assess breadth of knowledge from across the units, depth of understanding, and application of this knowledge, understanding and listening skills to answer appropriately challenging questions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">Assesses\u00a0knowledge and understanding of 20th and 21st century musical styles and genres, music concepts and aspects of music technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a\">The paper consists\u00a0of questions in response to music excerpts in a range of 20th and 21st century styles and genres.
