The National 4\/5 Administration and IT course provides candidates with experience of real-life\u00a0administration tasks and engaging practical activities relevant to the world of work. There is\u00a0an emphasis on the development of transferable life skills and the application of these skills.<\/p>\n

Students at Clydeview Academy following the course become aware of the use of technology within the\u00a0workplace, as they complete organisational tasks.<\/p>\n

Purpose and aims<\/strong>
\nThe course helps candidates to develop administrative and IT skills, and an understanding of\u00a0related theory, enabling them to effectively contribute to and support organisations.<\/p>\n

It enables candidates to:<\/strong>
\n\uf0a8 develop an understanding of administration theory in the workplace
\n\uf0a8 develop IT skills and use them to perform administrative tasks
\n\uf0a8 acquire organisational skills in the context of organising and supporting events<\/p>\n

National 5 Administration and IT Course Specification<\/a><\/p>\n

National 5 students will complete an IT based assignment (70 marks) lasting 3 hours in class in March and a 2 hour IT based question paper (50 marks) during the normal SQA exam diet.<\/p>\n

National 4 Administration and IT Course Specification<\/a><\/p>\n

National 4 students will complete a combined unit task and Added Value Unit, demonstrating their skills in the main software packages within normal class time.<\/p>\n

Students will undertake class based assessments in September\/October to help determine the most appropriate level of study in this course. Letters will be sent home to inform parents and carers of the results and the recommendation for presentation level. Previous attainment in tracking levels from\u00a0 S2 and S3 will also provide evidence of which level of presentation is most suitable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
