This is our first ever blog post – eek! Please be gentle!
Our aim is to share the wealth of learning across our provision be it in the Drop-in with Liz, or one of our community classes, the Blossom Room, the Sunshine Room, the Rainbow Room or even sometimes just the staff!
We are hoping to have a big Media Launch in the future (watch this space for details!) to celebrate the new media parental partnership. We’ll be showing off our wee clever clogs through twitter and these blogs, in order to make it easy for families to help children reflect on, share and develop their learning.
Here is a wee sneak peek at some of the stuff that we have been getting up to over the last wee while.
We were exploring fizzy potions with carbonated water and effervescent tablets.
We pretended to write without gravity by drawing under the table instead of on top!
We have been thinking about how we encourage role play and creativity and have changed our ‘house corner’ provision.
We explored our knowledge about space by dressing up in familiar space costumes.
Jack and Zara have completed their space patches just like Tim Peake’s!
Skye is developing her cutting skills and fine motor skills by colouring and cutting out her mission patch herself!
We saw real actual seals out in the river when we were out on our space walk. (They are actually there – the wee tiny dots!)
We saw a real actual Heron just sitting very close to the path. We had to be very quiet and walk slowly so as not to scare it!
We have even been learning about space at the tactile table – we made moon dough with Pauline!
We are trying to walk the distance it would be to get to space (62 miles). Our walk at Lunderson Bay was 2 miles – that would get us above some clouds!
So you can see we’ve been very busy learning!
Stay tuned for another blog with more detail about our space theme!
