The Hive

Hello and welcome to The Hive Web Page. The Hive is a Family Learning Room within All Saints Primary School which was  established in 2018.

In recent years there has been lots of research undertaken on how best to enhance the learning outcomes of children and young people. Through this research it was discovered that Parental Engagement / Family Learning was one of the most effective ways to enhance the learning of our children and young people.
The Hive came to life when Mrs. Fisher recognised that this approach would very much benefit the families in our school so, using some of the school’s Pupil Equity Fund (PEF), she employed Janey Macdonald in the post of Senior Community Learning & Development ( CLD) Worker- Family Learning. Janey, working together with Jill Morrow, Barnardo’s Family Support Worker, and Jane Aitken, the school’s Nurture Teacher, put together the room where we;

• Support families
• Deliver workshops
• Deliver Adult Learning courses
• Run Family Learning activities.

The Hive is available to all parents/carers of children who attend All Saints Primary School, sometimes extending an invitation to parents/carers from our partner school, King’s Oak. We love welcoming people into The Hive so please come and join us if you can.
