P7 Flashmob

At the Christmas Party on Tuesday, just as we were ready for Pass The Parcel with Mrs MacLeod’s infamous forfeits, we heard the sound of Mariah Carey and took over the dancefloor. We spend Monday morning and Tuesday lunchtime rehearsing a flashmob dance with Mr Cook that we could perform on Tuesday night. It went down a storm. Check it out below:

P7 Christmas Party!

We had a fantastic time tonight at the P7 party. Kicking off with the Scottish Dancing, taking part in the games – including the forfeits, surprising the P7 teachers with a flashmob that we choreographed with Mr Cook yesterday, and plates of pizza and chocolate. All in all – a massive success.

‘Mission Ugly!’

Last week we saw Primary 6/7 take to the stage with the pantomime which they wrote, based on the storyline of Cinderella, ‘Mission Ugly!’.

019 020 022

The pantomime began with a twisted storyline which saw the poor Princess Cindy (Rachael L) being tricked by her evil brother Princey (Grant N) when they were only six years old. Luckily Cindy had been ‘found’ by the Baron (Josh) and Baroness (Betsy). Not so lucky however was the fact that Cindy had to live with her two ug . . . we mean beautiful sisters – Iona (Ewan M) and Emma (Orrin) Long-bottom.

026 027 028

Flash forward 15 years and there is a ball for Princey’s 21st birthday. After a little help from Buttons (Griffin), Q (Ryan), and of course, the Fairy God Mother (Nina/Amy W), Cindy finally gets to the ball.

030 031 032

Just when Princey and Maxi-Me (Angus) think they’ve stolen the crown, a spell from the Tooth Fairy goes wrong when Button blocks it with a metal tray. The clock strikes twelve, Cindy remembers everything.

035 034 039

At this point, Jeremy Kyle (Mr Cook) bursts into the audience after missing the ball. After a song, he sets off to fixing the situation with a DNA test (Daniel W) and a lie-detector test (Aaron P). A sudden twist towards the end – someone has let poor Cinderella down . . .

023 025 024

You’ll be glad to hear that in the end Cinderella and Buttons live happily ever after . . . I don’t know if we can say the same for Princey and Maxi-Me, condemned by the King (Aaron W) and Queen (Iona B) to live with Iona and Emma forever. Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Mr Cook aims to begin editing the video over Christmas. We’ll be in touch with more details once it is available.

Children in Need

What a fantastic day it was today in Lochardil. We loved having boys, girls and staff dressed in their pyjamas. The Junior Leaders did a fantastic job with the Pudsey themed games, and Mr Cook was tired out after playing goal-keeper at lunchtime.

With the support of you all, we raised a massive £404.88 – a fantastic total!

Our competition winners were announced at assembly and are on the Pupil Council blog.

Lochardil Tea Towel!

The Parent Council have prepared a tea towel for Lochardil Primary School. The school opened for it’s first session in August 1964. So, after all the hard work from the children, teachers and staff at the school we are delighted to offer for sale two different Lochardil Primary School Tea Towels. One towel is for P1 – P3 and the second is for P4 – P7.

Whilst the towels will be available to buy later in the year, you can pre-order your towels now to ensure that you are able to get one (or 2 or 3!) which will make great Christmas presents.

Order forms will be available from the school from Monday 30th September.

Please follow the links to view the towels and access the order form.

The Lochardil Hockey Team!

hockey

The Lochardil Hockey team played really well at the tournament on Saturday. In the first league they played 4 games and had 3 wins and 1 draw, putting them equal 1st with Dalneigh. Unfortunately Dalneigh went through to the play off for the cup as they had scored 2 more goals than us. In the two play off games we had one win and our only loss, putting us in 5th place out of 15 teams. Mrs Campbell is very proud of the way they played and conducted themselves through out the tournament.

Well done!
