A HUGE well done to our gang show performers!! After months of rehearsals, our fabulous 6/7s did five shows during the holidays down at Eden Court Theatre. I went to see the show myself and it was brilliant; very funny and lots of singing and dancing. A special congratulations goes to Grant Nixon who won a trophy for being the best performer of the whole production. Great work Grant!
Congratulations to Duncan Ball, Alasdair Risby, Josh Morrison and Grant Nixonfor writing superbly this week in story writing. We did a piece of creative writing where we had to imagine what an object would say if it could talk. What stories might it tell? Who was its owner and what situations had they been in together? This was closely linked to our WWII topic; we could choose from a whole range of war-time objects that are kept in the museum at Fort George: gas mask, periscope, uniform, a lamp, a sun hat and a water-bottle.
Everyone did really well. We focussed on using similes, metaphors and onomatopoeiato make our writing exciting and interesting. Some people even attempted personification. Well done guys!
I hope everyone has a lovely easter holiday and see you all soon,
What a lot of fun the boys had this afternoon doing some wonderful Dance/Drama with professional dancers associated with the forthcoming Lord of the Flies production at Eden Court.
Once they had got over their disappointment that they weren’t going to have to put on a tu-tu, they had a wonderful time and really did Lochardil proud. We would warmly encourage any of the boys to go along to the auditions. (details to follow)
