Christmas Fete Crafts

P4 have been working really hard on our Christmas fete crafts.  Here is a sneak peek of the goods that we will be selling on Saturday 10th December, 10am at Central Primary School.

Below are pictures from the intial stages of the project.

Next is the painting stage,

We can’t wait to see the finished products, we hope you will like them too.

Children In Need

Today was Children In Need day.  We had lots of activities on in the school.  It has been a great day.

First of all we had a come as you please day.  We had to try to wear something spotty! Lots of us in P4 did!

The P7s organsied lots of different activities at playtime.  We had a double break to let us go and enjoy them.

We had some lucky winners.

Freya correctly guessed the name of the teddy.  She guessed the name Ewen and it was correct.

Freya was lucky again, along with her partner Lucy.  They designed a super outfit for Blush (Pudsey’s girlfriend!).  They came 2nd place! We were really happy for them.

Hopefully tonight we will get a mention on CiN, for our fantastic total of £280.00!

Exciting Week for P4

Primary 4 have been super busy this week.

We have been busy planting daffodils in pots, to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Trust.  You will be able to buy these pots at the Christmas Fayre on (Saturday 10th December – starts at 10am.

Here is some of the hard work we put in to them.

Talking of the christmas fayre – we had Mrs Lallah in to help us make some christmas tree decorations to sell at the fayre (pics of our christmas fayre work will be posted soon).  It was great fun and we really enjoyed it.  Thank you Mrs Lallah for giving up your time to help us.

We have been busy getting into our topic ‘Famous Scottish People’.  First of all we looked at a famous Scottish Artist J D Fergusson.  He was a famous water colourist.  We traced our faces from a photograph, we then painted them and added a fancy hat (from the 1900s).  They looked great!

We wrote great stories about animals, we can’t wait to find out the star writers on Monday.

In maths, we have been having fun trying to learn our tables.  Ask us to show you meditating multiplication.  We know we need to focus to learn our 6 times table.

It’s been such a busy week, I think we are all looking forward to relaxing and watching Children In Need tonight!

P4 and Mrs Third

Star Writers

Mrs Third eventually got round to giving out the star writer certificates for our Holiday News.

The star writers were:

Holly, Morgan, Beth, Aidan, Ewen, Kelly and Callum.

They did a super job of writing their news.

Spooky Halloween Disco

Last night everybody was having so much fun at the disco.  The costumes were fantastic – some people were really scary.

We played lots of fun games and did lots of dancing!

Caitlin won a prize for the best dressed girl, she was a punk rocker.

Do you like some of our costumes?

Good New Certificates

This week was a really hard choice for me to choose who to give certificates to.  First of all the whole class were brilliant on Wednesday when I was not feeling well.  So I owe them a huge thank you!

I did manage to choose 3 people for certificates.

Caitlin – for never giving up.  Even when she finds a piece of work tricky, she asks for help and never gives up.  This is a super attitude to have!

Lucas – for putting super detail into his artwork.  Your pictures are fantastic to look at.  Keep it up!

Yusuf – for having a great first week back.  when faced with difficult decisions, Yusuf has made the right choices.

Well done P4 for a super week! Keep it up!

1st Day Back!

It was nice to be back at school today, although we were all a bit tired!  Everyone got down to work straight away.  We did some challenge cards, went over our term 1 spelling words, we worked in our trios to do some problem solving and we did illustrations of our holiday news.  we finished the day with some PE! We now feel exhuasted and puffed out!

REMINDER – Halloween Disco on Thursday 27th October – P4-P7 – 7.30-8.45pm! It should be great fun!

Testing our Senses

We have been learning all about our senses, today we were learning about taste and smell.  We were blindfolded and then given different fruit and vegetables to taste.  First we had to smell them and try to guess what they are, then we tasted them to see if we were right.

We had to taste carrot, cucumber, apple, lime, pineapple and our favourite one chocolate.

We thought the carrot tasted hard and crunchy in our mouth.  Callum described the pinespple like a river running in his mouth, becasue it was so juicy.  The lime was sour and made our eyes water.

It was great fun!
