Aigas Adventures

We went on a trip to Aigas Field Centre. There were lots of great activities and we had fun even in the rain and hail stones. We were pond dipping and found some newts and an osprey flew over us. We were also mini-beast hunting and made a bug home to take back to school with us. We also played some life cycle games and had to rush around wearing wings while trying to catch pretend flies. We even found some charcoal which we knew all about since we used it for our art a few weeks ago.

What a shame we have no pictures to share but the camera was not working! We hope to have it mended soon.

Lots of amazing things to see!

Matthew’s mum came in to talk to us about our local wildlife. She brought in a big box of amazing things for us to look at. We saw the skin of an adder, two different nests, antlers and even the skull of another small deer. She also showed us how to make a model of animal footprints by using plaster of Paris.

Did you know that the adder is the only poisonous snake in Scotland?

Have you ever seen the footprints of a badger?

Many thanks to Matthew’s mum for a fantastic visit!!
