Visit to townhouse

Visit to townhouseOn Tuesday 17th of March, a group of pupils from the Gaelic department went to the Inverness Town House to meet and have lunch with some Gaelic-speaking Canadians visiting Scotland on a school trip. There was a mix of pupils from both Scotland and Canada at each table which gave us the opportunity to ask them questions and get to know them. It was very interesting to hear what they thought of Scotland and we learnt many things about what life was like in Nova Scotia. Overall I will value the experience as I knew very little about Canada before the lunch and I enjoyed meeting people from a different country and learning about their Gaelic culture.                                   Amy Geddes S4

Chaidh buidheann de sgoilearan à Roinn na Gàidhlig gu Talla a’ Bhaile airson coinneachadh ri sgoilearan à Canada air Dimàirt. Fhuair sinn an cothrom bruidhinn riutha agus ceistean fhaighneachd dhaibh. Bha e glè inntinneach cluinntinn na beachdan a bh’ aca air Alba agus mar a bha beatha ann an Alba Nuadh. Chòrd e rium gu mòr a bhith a’ coinneachdadh ri daoine à dùthaich eile agus ag ionnsachadh mun chultar Gàidhlig aca.                                                              Amy Geddes S4
