When Lily Ebert BEM, a survivor of Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, showed her great-grandson Dov Forman a bank note she was given after liberation, he started an online search via social media and successfully tracked down the soldier who gave it to her.<\/p>\n
Their reunion, 75 years later, captured imaginations across the country and was widely covered in television, newspapers and radio. Their book, Lily\u2019s Promise \u2013 How I Survived Auschwitz and Found the Strength to Live, was co-authored by the pair and published in 2021, sharing both Lily\u2019s memories and Dov\u2019s journey of discovery.<\/p>\n
In conversation with Show Racism the Red Card, Lily and Dov will share not only Lily\u2019s experience of the Holocaust, but also how social media can be used as a tool for good in educating future generations.<\/p>\n
