Although it is important to identify where we are now, it is not enough to stop there. We need to reflect upon how we can develop the skills where we are less confident and how we can transfer the skills in which we are confident and competent.

Activity 2

Complete the audit below, using the information from the table above.

Recognition Reflection Action
Skills already developed How will I use these How do I know (evidence)**
Organise and plan To help me stay up to date with my Uni work and make sure that it’s done in good time. This skill will specifically keep my work, school and social life organised making sure nothing important is missed.
Listen to others During group disscusions, lectures and while finding out general important information.
Make presentations  When I have to present my findings on given tasks and for assessments. This will also come in handy in my elective as well as when I actually become a teacher.
Manage Time Making sure I’m punctual for classes, placements, events, work, etc.

** This section should be completed as you identify when/where/how you have used/developed these skills.

Part B – Activity 1

Recognition Reflection Action
Skills not yet developed How will I develop these How do I know (evidence)**
Take notes  By pin pointing the most important information and writing it so that it actually helps for future refference. I could also do this by reading different recomended texts and writing more notes from there to gain more knoledge and improve on this skill.
Take risks  I need to stop thinking so much about the negatives and actually consider the positives and stay consisted with this thought proccess to potentially gain the most perks.
Debate formally and informally  By sharing my opinions more and speak more freely. I often bite my tongue, worried I may say the wrong thing or be totally off topic. I should also work on boosting my knowledge so that I can participate more and share information and ideas.
Act as a leader  By being more confident in my self that my efforts are just as good as everyone else’s . I don’t like to order people about I’m more of a free will person but sometimes leadership is essential in getting something done well. I need to stop being so passive.
Self-confidence  By being more strong willed and less sensitive. Realise that people don’t always mean bad and I need to stop taking everything so seriously and be prouder of what I can actually do and what I have to give.
