This page will contain some helpful information on remote learning, particularly digital. We are all now much more familiar with Google Classroom, however as the focus this time around in lockdown is on moving learning forward we will be making some changes. Staff are busy learning about Google Meet and how we can use this with our learners. Watch out for more information soon!
SLC Remote Learning Parental Guide
SLC have produced a very helpful guide on remote learning. Please take a few moments to read through it. It will always be here for you to refer back to at any time.
Google Meet with Learners
Below I have uploaded the parental guidance on the use of Google Meet. Some of our staff plan to try this soon with their classes. They will inform their children via their classroom as to when this will take place. However, for security reasons we ask that all parents read the guide and discuss it with their children this week prior to any Google Meet sessions taking place.
Microsoft Office
You can download Microsoft Office via your child’s glow account for free on up to 15 devices. Look for the Microsoft Office Tile on the Glow Launch Pad and it takes a few minutes to download.
Scanning
If you have an iPhone or iPad then you have a scanner! Open a new note, press the camera button and the option to scan button appears. Once you have scanned it you can then send it as a photo.

Remote Learning Routine
The Education Endowment Fund has produced a short video that is very helpful to watch regarding ensuring routine. Having a daily routine is essential to wellbeing, remaining calm and clear about what the day ahead has planned. There is also a checklist sheet that you may find helpful.
