World Book Day (March 2025)

To celebrate World Book Day in Room 3, we read The Highway Rat and then had a go of making our own little highway rats. We also watched the tv adaptation.

Room 8 were very busy this World Book Week:

  • we focused on the theme “Go Wild about Reading.”
  • On Wednesday we learned about endangered animals. We used Chromebooks to research and created information leaflets on different endangered animals.
  • On Friday morning we were inspired by our love of graphic novels. We created our own graphic novels then spent time reading each others.
  • On Friday afternoon we focussed on some animal art. We looked at specific features of some animals and recreated them using a range of media.

Room 1 had a great afternoon celebrating WBD. We read Giraffes Can’t Dance. We followed that with some free style dancing like Gerald the giraffe and then had a go at being illustrators. Great artists (and dancers) in the making.
