Jubilee Year 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope
The Catholic Church is holding a Jubilee Year. The theme for this year is Pilgrims of Hope. In school we are learning lots about this and how we can be Pilgrims of Hope to others in our daily lives and interactions. It is a time to grow deeper in our faith and prayer life.
Daily in class we are praying our Jubilee prayer and reflecting on our day by using The Five Finger Examen.

The Common Good –
Our MISSIO Champions launched the “Lent through a Lens” fundraising competition- helping MISSIO to tackle poverty. Prizes for the best art/collage/photo of nature.
Winners of the Lent Through a Lens Competition
Primary 6 pupils have written prayers of hope for the Jubilee year.

Rooms 7-10 have been learning about Fairtrade and how it helps tackle poverty. They designed posters and some were entered into the East Kilbride Fairtrade Group School poster and poem competition.

Stations of the Cross
Twice weekly during Lent our Mini-Vinnies and PFFA children led us in Stations of the Cross.
Time for Hope
We wrote to our local MP and councillors asking them to take action about issues that will help create a better, more sustainable future, e.g. tree planting initiatives, traffic calming measures, recycling bins in schools and more grass pitches.
COS 3
At the COS3 event, pupils had the chance to see how they can build a better and fairer world by thinking about issues such as recycling and reducing waste. They also enjoyed building bug hotels and planting seeds as ways to help care for creation.
