In St. Leonard’s Primary and Nursery we take pride in providing a happy, safe and stimulating environment for all our children, enabling them to make the most of their skills and abilities. We work hard to ensure that high quality learning experiences are challenging, enjoyable and relevant.
Our school motto is “Learn, Care, Pray – Making The Most of Everyday.”
As a Catholic school, we strive to ensure that we have an inclusive and welcoming ethos built on Gospel values. We promote and encourage tolerance, care, concern and respect for ourselves and others. We have high aspirations for all our children, striving to enable each one of them to become a successful learner, confident individual, effective contributor and responsible citizen.
It is the aim of St. Leonard’s Primary School & Nursery to give each pupil many opportunities to develop to his/her full capacity, intellectually, physically, spiritually, aesthetically and emotionally according to his/her age, ability and aptitude. A strong parental partnership has been established over the years and parents are kept fully informed and are encouraged to be active participants in their children’s progress. All staff members are committed to pupil welfare and welcome the co-operation of parents, so that teachers, parents and pupils can work together to achieve our aims.
We recognise how much more can be achieved when close partnerships exist between the school and home. We have an active and engaged Parent Council/PTA who play an integral role in school life. We work very well with several local nurseries and Saint Andrew’s and Saint Bride’s High School to ensure that smooth transitions are planned for. In Saint Leonard’s Primary, we consider the needs of the whole child and so our pupils are encouraged to live healthy and active lives and benefit from a wide range of Extra-Curricular Activities.
