href=\"https:\/\/www.energylivenews.com\/2024\/08\/29\/discounted-electricity-can-help-manage-grid\/\">electricity<\/a>&nbsp;to over 26 million homes and reduce carbon emissions by more than 35 million tonnes annually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Almost half of this \u2013 48% \u2013 is being generated by Scotland\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energylivenews.com\/2024\/08\/15\/offshore-wind-profits-rise-as-orsted-faces-setbacks\/\">offshore<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energylivenews.com\/2024\/08\/05\/uk-to-ease-solar-and-onshore-wind-planning-rules\/\">onshore wind&nbsp;<\/a>farms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of this,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energylivenews.com\/2024\/08\/27\/scotlands-wind-farms-paid-over-205m-to-shut-down\/\">Scotland<\/a>\u2018s onshore wind farms, from the Borders to the Highlands and Islands, currently contribute 9.5GW.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offshore wind farms along Scotland\u2019s coast currently provide 5GW of clean energy, with a target of 11GW by 2030.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scotland\u2019s
