Happy Easter from P2 F/N! I wonder how many of the delicious cupcakes we baked today will be shared with someone at home…

Easter lunch
All of the pupils in the class have received a letter home about a special Easter lunch hosted by the cafeteria on Thursday 24th March. As usual, the lunch will be free for pupils in P1-3 but if your child would like to purchase an extra cake or drink etc. they will need to bring a little money to buy it. There will also be a special treat provided for every child wearing an Easter bonnet or decorated hat.

For the past few weeks, our spelling words have focussed on double letter sounds. This week it is ss/zz (dress, buzz, fuzzy etc.). Here is a link to a Youtube video about double letter spelling patterns:

Silly Sentences (Adjectives)
We have been learning about adjectives and on Tuesday we played a game of silly sentences. We had to roll a dice and choose an envelope that corresponded with the number shown on the dice. We chose two adjectives from that envelope and also picked a sentence from the sentence envelope. We added our adjectives to our sentences and here are just some examples of what we came up with:
‘The yellow bunny bounced through the jealous field’; ‘The ancient dog ran after the dirty cat’; ‘The stripy girl played with her dangerous dolls’; ‘The crunchy flower smelled wiggly’; ‘The handsome lion stalked his purple prey’; ‘The orange zebra ran to the angry waterhole’; ‘The thin boy kicked the slippery ball’; ‘The blue man waved to the clean lady’; ‘The gooey horse jumped over the fence’; ‘The purple horse jumped over the stinky fence’ and ‘The pongy man waved to the spotty lady’.
Although the sentences are a bit silly and sometimes don’t make sense, we had lots of fun putting our adjectives in the correct places!
Hello from P2 F/N
Good morning! We are P2 F/N and we are sitting on the carpet looking at our class blog and thinking about all of the great things we could include in it.
Athletics
We have started learning about athletics in PE and have already tried running at different speeds, thinking about how our bodies feel after exercise.
Yesterday in PE we tried long-distance running for the first time. All of us were able to run for two minutes without stopping (we were pretty quiet and tired in class afterwards). We said we thought we could run for even longer and are going to try to run for three minutes today. Do you think we can manage it?
