We have been so busy this week learning and playing, making new friends, working on our routines and on our rainbow tasks. We are really enjoying being Primary 2!<\/p>\n
Pupil Voice:<\/p>\n
Harris: I liked doing the rainbow tasks.<\/p>\n
Lucia: I enjoyed the number task where we wrote down all the numbers we knew.<\/p>\n
Katie: I liked singing the days of the week and the months of the year song.<\/p>\n
Emily J: I also enjoyed singing the days of the week and months of the year song.<\/p>\n
David: We learned the ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ sound this week.<\/p>\n
Peyton: I enjoyed learning about Miss Livingstone and our new class mates.<\/p>\n
Callum: We learned about our rights as children and what they mean.<\/p>\n
Shreyan: I learned the common words: have, by, your, only.<\/p>\n
Harry: I liked playing football with Miss Campbell.<\/p>\n
Alice: I enjoyed P.E outside with Miss Campbell.<\/p>\n
Ayeesha: I enjoyed learning the months of the year.<\/p>\n
Amira: I enjoyed playing games in p.e<\/p>\n
Our spelling this week was consolidation of Primary 1 sounds. We learned the ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ sound, some of the words were ‘shop, ship, share, shake, ship, shy, rush’ and ‘chop, chin, chair, cheek, chug’ and the common words for this week and next week are ‘have, your, only, by’. We have focused on numbers to 100 this week, counting forwards and backwards, one more and one less than 20, and identifying numbers on a number line to 20. We had our non number focus today too, this was days of the week and months of the year.<\/p>\n
The children have enjoyed learning about their rights as a child, and creating class rules and our class charter together. They chose to focus on the right to learn, the right to play, the right to be heard, and the right to a voice.<\/p>\n
Next week we will start our IDL topic on Planets and the Solar System, as the children are very eager to hear all about the Eclipse.<\/p>\n
