This week in Room 4, the children have been very busy and engaged in lots of exciting learning across the curriculum.<\/p>\n
In maths, we introduced the topic of money with Miss Reid. The children explored recognising, identifying and sorting 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, \u00a31 and \u00a32 coins through a range of fun, play-based experiences, including our class shop. They enjoyed sorting coins in different ways, such as by shape, colour and value. As the week progressed, the children developed their confidence by paying for items using the exact amounts and even began combining different coins to make totals.<\/p>\n
In literacy, we introduced the \u2018ch\u2019 joint phoneme. The children took part in a variety of engaging activities to help them identify, read and write words containing this sound. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing confidence in applying their phonics knowledge.<\/p>\n
In PE, we began practising for our upcoming Sports Day. The children had lots of fun taking part in the egg and spoon race.. They showed great determination and resilience, continuing to try even when the egg fell off their spoon.<\/p>\n
