This week in Primary 1, we have been busy learning and having lots of fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

In Literacy, we have been continuing to consolidate the sounds we have already learned. The children have been working hard to recognise, say and use these sounds in their reading and writing.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Maths, we have been focusing on ordering and sequencing numbers up to 20. The class enjoyed a variety of activities to help them understand number order, including games and practical tasks. They are becoming much more confident in recognising numbers and putting them in the correct order.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, we had a very exciting visit from the fire department as part of our \u201cPeople Who Help Us\u201d topic. The children learned how to call 999 using a smartphone and talked about when it is important to use this emergency number. They also had the chance to spray a real fire hose and go inside a fire engine, which was a highlight! We were shown different tools that firefighters use and learned how they help keep people safe. It was a fantastic experience and the children had so much fun while learning.<\/span><\/p>\n
