The children practised recognising and solving doubles such as \u20185 + 5\u2019 and \u20186 + 6\u2019 and beyond. To help us remember them, we also learned a fun doubles song, which the children really enjoyed singing while practising their number facts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During Literacy, we spent time consolidating the sounds we have already learned, practising reading, writing and recognising them in different words. The children are becoming much more confident using their sounds when reading and spelling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We also started our brand-new topic: \u201cUnder the Sea.\u201d The class was very excited to begin exploring this topic. We talked about different sea animals and what we might find in the ocean and we are looking forward to learning much more about marine life in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It has been a wonderful week of learning in Primary 1 and the children should be very proud of all their hard work!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have a lovely weekend!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Miss McBride and Room 3<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 1 we have had a busy and exciting time in our learning!
