We have had a very busy week in Room 8!
In our maths this week we have been working on addition. We have been using active and written strategies to add a teens number to a 2 digit number.
We have also started practicing our songs for our Christmas Concert!
On Wednesday, some of our adults came to join us for our Book Week Event! We really enjoyed this because we got to read and play with our grown ups and show them the work we have been doing.
We enjoyed lots of other book week activities too! We designed the front cover of a book when we were only given the blurb. We also had an Author’s Live Session with Axel Scheffler (who illustrated The Gruffalo, Superworm, The Snail and the Whale, Jonty Gentoo and the Smeds and the Smoos). He spoke about his life and also taught us how to draw the Gruffalo and Jonty Gentoo. Ms Henderson was our mystery reader today. She told us the story of ‘To Wee or not to Wee.” We really enjoyed it.
We joined in with Room 7 and Mrs Norton for our final yoga session. Our favourite poses were mountain, tree, warrior, pigeon and child’s pose.
We have been working on our new sustainability topic- the Butterfly Effect. We were learning to identify where our food comes from and explain how our choices can impact the planet.
In French, we are now looking at the French Cafe and we started to design our own menus which we will fill with the new food and drink vocabulary we learn.

You have all worked very hard this week Room 8. Well done! It was lovely to see you working with your adults on Wednesday (or working hard with me and Ms Lamont). Have a lovely weekend! – Miss Curley
