Room 2 have been marking Health Week in a variety of fun and active ways this week.
On Monday, we enjoyed a short taster session of Taekwondo. We practised kicking and punching the pad and we even tried out our superhero moves with superhero jumps. Some of us attend taekwondo sessions out with school so we were able to demonstrate for our friends. It was really fun!
On Tuesday as part of our Health and Wellbeing lesson, we prepared and made fruit kebabs. We had certain rules for cooking which we remembered throughout the whole process. We used bananas, oranges and apples for our kebabs. They were yummy and some of us even had seconds! After we had finished eating, we consolidated our learning on data handling. We chose our favourite fruit from the kebab and displayed the information using tally marks. We were able to identify the most popular choice from our data.
On Wednesday, we took part in our Sports Day. We would like to thank all our parents/carers who came along to support us. It was great to have you cheering us on. We completed three different races – a flat race, potato and spoon and beanbag. Some of us received 1st, 2nd and 3rd place stickers and medals. We were proud of our efforts and had a big round of applause when we got back to class (and a large quantity of water!).
On Thursday, we came to school dressed in our own clothes/as a personal hero or as superheroes. We enjoyed writing about our outfits for our writing lesson today. This afternoon, we also had a short visit from ‘Hope’ the mascot from Kilbryde Hospice. We had a little dance in the hall with some of our friends from Primary 1 and 2 and it was nice to see Hope. Thank you for visiting us!
We certainly had a fun and busy Health Week in Room 2. Have a lovely long weekend everyone. 🙂
