Room 3 have had such an exciting week this week! On Monday, we were surprised to see some mysterious footprints on the carpet when we returned from lunch. We had a long discussion about who the footprints could belong to and decided that they must have come from a dinosaur! We think they might have jumped out and left through the window because no one could find it. As part of our IDL learning through play, we put on our detective hats and searched the classroom for different clues that could help us solve the mystery. We used magnifying glasses to search the area carefully and police tape to block off the evidence. We even used our play to make posters and fact sheets about the mystery. Following this, we used this experience as the start to our new IDL topic; Dinosaurs. We found that in our classroom we already know lots about dinosaurs so we made up a table showing what we know and what we would like to learn in this topic to develop our understanding and knowledge. We can’t wait to get started!
Yesterday, we also had a fun-filled day of book related activities to celebrate World Book Day 2025. We dressed up in our comfiest clothes, made bookmarks, read with our buddies, took part in a Reading River, did a Golden Ticket challenge, completed a quiz and enjoyed lots of stories. It was definitely a day to remember!
