This week Room 4 have been consolidating all previously taught sounds and common words. We worked with our friends to create sentences with the words we find tricky. In our taught writing lesson this week we created a plan to write our own version of the Jack and the Beanstalk story. The children used their imaginations to create new characters, a problem and a solution to their own fairytale story which we will write next week.
In maths we have continued to develop our knowledge of using and calculating different amounts of money. The children enjoyed having a toyshop in the class, where they had to pay for items using the exact amount of money and enjoyed being challenged to use as little coins as possible.
Please see below what some of the boys and girls have enjoyed learning this week:
CH “I liked learning about castles.”
AM “I liked adding coins together on the C-Touch.”
IG “I liked designing my own castle.”
YS “I liked trying different rolls in PE.”
ZE “I liked learning about money.”
SMcI “I liked using actions to retell the story of Jack and the beanstalk.”
AMcK “I like our Fairyland Topic.”
IS “I liked creating my own story.”
MG “I liked helping Miss Laird to demonstrate the different rolls in Gymnastics.”
JN “I liked learning different Chinese signs with Miss Lamont.”
A reminder that Room 4 will be building their castles on Tuesday 11th February. Please ensure your child brings any recycled cardboard boxes/ tubes or materials they need to build their own castle.
Have a Lovely weekend.
