The weeks are flying past in Room 5 and the children have been busy learning lots of interesting things about plants, their life cycle and what parts of the plant we can eat.  We were all really interested to hear that broccoli is the flower of the plant!

We are also preparing for building our dragon castles. Our boxes and cardboard tube collection is growing!  The children enjoyed making some ideas with lego, blocks and straws.

This week our sound was ‘igh’ which we will continue with next week.  In numeracy we are learning about money, recognising coins and making amounts.  Lots of practise is encouraged at home with this skill!

Finally, Callum was awarded with our class mascot Nelly this week for working hard and following instructions first time.  Congratulations, Callum!
