Our Police Visit 🚔🚨

Last week, P1 were very lucky to get a visit from two police officers, Cody’s daddy and Carmen’s mummy. The officers came in as part of our People Who Help Us topic and taught us all about what they do in their jobs to help keep people safe. They also brought in some items they would wear and use, such as their hats, hi-vis vests, walkie talkies, batons, PAVA spray and handcuffs. They even arrested Mrs Rae for stealing some sweeties! Have a look at some of our super pictures.
Later in the week, we began learning about fact files in our writing lesson. We discussed what could be found in a fact file and how this genre of writing could be used to help people find out about a particular topic. We learned that fact files need a title, a labelled picture and some facts. We worked together to make our own fact files about police officers and were very proud of our work.
