This week Room 3 enjoyed learning about the police and how they help us in everyday society as part of our IDL topic. We spoke about what people in the police wore (hat, hi-vis vest, boots, badge) and the type of equipment they carry (handcuffs, baton, spray, walkie talkie). We also had a chat and watched a short video about where police officers work, what vehicles they use and the use of police dogs. We found this very interesting!
As part of our play leaning, opportunities were provided to design your own police badge, colour the police person/car, be a police officer (role-play) and also build a police station or police vehicle. Learners enjoyed using these experiences to improve their understanding of this job role in society. Have a look at some of our designs/builds below!
