It’s the final week of Primary 1 and I am delighted to share with you some pictures of our class trip at the Riverside Museum and the Tall Ship.
We saw so many different modes of transport and learned about the vehicles used by People Who Help Us in the community. When we arrived we took part in a workshop where we explored different emergency vehicles. At the police car we worked as a team to secure an area using traffic cones to ensure it was safe. We then visited the fire engine and tried on a firefighter’s helmet and held the hose – they sure were heavy. At the ambulance we practised bandaging up our partners and listening to their heart beat using a stethoscope. Hungry work for sure!
We then enjoyed our lunches before hopping into a time machine and exploring the Old Street. We visited the underground train, the ice cream parlour and even the old pub! Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone as there was a sign saying women and children were not allowed in!
We then took ourselves aboard the Tall Ship were we could explore what life was like on the open seas. We visited the boat’s hospital wing, sleeping bunks and the captain’s quarters. We also had a look at the engine and practised transporting goods from the lower to the upper deck using ropes.
What a busy and super fun day we had together! I will post more pictures on Google Classroom during the week.
