Our Week in Room 20

June 17, 2022 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

We cannot quite believe that we only have one more week left of term but boy are we managing to still pack in lots of learning and experiences! 😁

This week we’ve been reading more of our novel, The Fox Girl and the White Gazelle, and we’ve even been able to take our reading outside to enjoy the weather. On Monday 20th June we will have an extremely exciting visitor coming to our pod… Victoria Williamson, the author of our novel! We cannot wait to meet her and to ask her lots of questions and take part in her creative writing workshop. We’ll let you know how it went next week!

Throughout the year we’ve also been completing our ‘School Year in Pixels’ which links with our Emotion Works learning. As a class we chose the colours to represent each emotion and have been tracking how we feel each day of the school year. It is important that our pupils check in with how they are feeling and to acknowledge that it is okay to have mad and frustrating days, sad and gloomy days, nervous and anxious days. As a teacher, I am delighted that my pupils have been able to track an entire school year without any covid-related interruptions! Have a look at our photos below to see how our charts are looking with one week left to go 😁
