Room 7 round up

This week we continue our money topic and learning to recognise and order different coins and use them to pay for items, we also revised time – o’clock and half past times. During our Limelight music session we all got to play a Djembe drum of our own which was very fun, we practised making loud and soft sounds and even created beats that sounded like rainfall. On Monday we took part in a special assembly which unveiled the ‘mystery box’ which has arrived in Newton Farm. We had already written about what we thought could be inside, from a telephone box, rabbit hutch to giant carrots and rectangular monsters our ideas were super inventive! The mystery item turned out to be a book vending machine and we will soon learn how we can earn special golden tokens which will allow us to choose a book of our own! In Literacy we focussed on learning our common words using the LaSaCaWaC method, the children also continue to learn lots of interesting facts from our non-fiction texts. The class also had lots of fun in our Amazonia role play area this week. For Science, we looked at appropriate clothing required for different climates and weathers.
